Today I looked at the TRAK (therapeutic riding academy of Knoxville) website. TRAK is our service learning project for the fall 2011 semester in ADMN 2450. From the website, the organization seems to be somewhere that kids with disabilities come. I have seen t.v. programs about places like this but did not know that Knoxville has one. I look forward to learning more about this organization and seeing what we can do to help them!

The group has been working on ideas to help and improve the current website. We have started a powerpoint presentation that includes screen shots of another riding academy’s website and pictures from my visit to TRAK. We have divided up the project into 4 areas and each of us are working on our areas.
I have provided pictures from my visit to TRAK and the other 3 classmates that went. We have brainstormed on ideas of how to rearrange the website and make it more user-friendly. This coming week, we plan onto finish our presentation and having a “dress rehearsal”.

I thought long and hard on what to do for a “how to” video, and my Director at work suggested a “how to” video on setting up a blog. I did the simple set up steps with signing up, picking a theme, and writing your first blog post. Thought it was a great idea! This video was shot on my cell phone camera so the quality isn’t to great.

I chose the “Slap Chop” video. The Slap Chop is a device that chops vegetables, fruit, nuts, cheese, and meat in seconds. The video is 3 minutes and 11 seconds long. The video is 2 years old. The video is somewhat entertaining. The guy in the video is more entertaining that the product its self. The video stayed on topic of the product chopping and dicing the food. The quality was good. It was pretty much an infomercial. I liked the way the product stayed the center of attention during the whole video.
