This class was very knowledgeable and it taught me a good amount about different types of technology. This class was very interesting throughout the whole semester learning something new and being able to use that knowledge. Even though the whole semester was very fun I really enjoyed a few specific topics. These topics were the robotics and artificial intelligence in video games because those types of things really relate to me. It was great being able to see how far the world has come on creating newer and better pieces of technology. In this class everything you learned you used and that is great being able to learn something and then be able to use it toward something you want to do. It was a great experience to learn how to create a webpage as well. Everything that we did during this course will or could be used with anything we want to do. That could be a job or just something we want to do for fun. A lot of fun, knowledge, and a great instructor that made it fun.

The robotics topic really caught my eye. I really enjoy building things and programming them to do what I want and this class got me started with teaching me some about programming. Just think if you were really good at building stuff and programming, you could create some kind of robotic cybernetic system that will do specific jobs for you at your house that will make a humans life much easier. Sense I really enjoy this type of stuff who is to say that I may end up one day creating something like this. It’s great when you go to program something and you actually know what you are doing. I will be taking another programming coarse at pellissippi and that should make me even more knowledgeable in the programming art.

Video games and the way that they have progressed from the Nintendo 64 all the way to the xbox 360. It’s absolutely amazing to see the amount of work and effort that go into these games. I understand now of how hard it is to create a video game. In these games now some developers have put artificial intelligence in them and that by far makes the game even more realistic. One of my favorite games that I have played recently has been skyrim. In skyrim if you save a town from a dragon or do something for a person or town everyone will be talking about it. It’s as if the characters in the game talk to each other and have real conversations. The graphics are absolutely extraordinary and if you play long enough you kind of start feeling like you live in the game. It’s very weird. overall an amazing experience and alot or knowledge

my experiences with virtual worlds have been great. one of the games that i played with a virtual world was oblivion. oblivion used to be one of my favorite games because you didnt have boundaries per say. the story mode in oblivion is not you average story mode. usually you have a set mission and you have to go in a certain direction. you cant just go your own route there is a set route to get to the objective. in the oblivion game you can create your own person and you can pretty much choose what mission you want to do after you have talked to someone so you have unlocked the mission. its really neat. if you dont feel like doing missions you can walk around and kill things and steal stuff or collect items. after collecting enough money you can by a house in almost every city or town. i love playing that game but it takes a long time to get money for buying stuff. so i searched the internet for cheat codes and i found a duplication glitch so you can duplicate your most expensive item multiple times and you can sell it and get a ton of money. plenty of money = success

skyrim the game made after oblivion is even better. the graphics are insanely good. these days with the graphics and everything being so real its hard not to want to play all the time. is almost like being in your own world and it looks so real. you could do alot of extra things in oblivion but you can do even more in skyrim. these games are alot of fun but there is one draw back. with these games being like your own little world many people get caught up in these virtual worlds and spend alot of time playing these games. if you can play and be able to quit with ease your probably ok but if you cant stop playing than it could be bad for your job, school, or whatever extra curricular activities a person wants to do.

the talk about artificial intelligence intrigues me in the sense that that video companies are now making games that have human like intelligence for a certain situation. it is amazing to see where games are now compared to the 90′s. the first game system i used was the Nintendo 64 it was great at the time but now you are a character in a game and you can carry on conversations with people. in a sense when you create a character in these games you are them. some people get so caught up in games like these. skyrim for instance is a great game but people get carried away. its almost like they are in the game and the game is their life. it is really cool though that you can talk to a bunch of different people and based on what your character has done in the game they will have a certain remark or question for you. its neat that characters in the game know what you have done throughout the game. its just so amazing how far games have come.

the robotics projects we worked on this week were really fun. my group and i built a car and put the light sensor on our car. after getting the car built and putting the sensors that we wanted on we programmed it to go around that track. we had a little difficulty programming at first because we had it programmed to use a color sensor instead of a light sensor. after we figured that out we just switched it to a light sensor and tested it on the track. the robot made a complete lap with the sensor staying on line with the black track. we then tried to make in faster but it didnt work as well. this week was very fun and interesting and i really enjoyed in taking part in these activities.

this week in lab was a great experience dealing with robotics. it was really neat being able to create a robotic device using legos. it was awesome being able to make something and then programming it through the computer device connected to the robot. it was cool to see something you created do what you have programmed it to do and i personally thought that to do something like that would be really hard and would take time to do but instead it was pretty simple and didn’t take to long. my group built a 2 wheeled car with a wheel in the front that was on a swivel so it could turn. this lab was very fun and a great experience. maybe someday i can create a robot that will be the greatest invention ever.

this weeks topics were very intriguing to me.  i am very interested in hacking and the different types of viruses along with security in general.  hacking is very interesting to me i think it would be neat to know how to do it. i know that it is illegal but you should be aloud to hack someone if they hack into your computer. what goes around comes around. in movies i always that it would be really cool an fun to be able to do things that have an affect on others and not even be there and to find out stuff that someone may have left out. hacking should only be used for protection. hack the hackers in my opinion.

viruses, well they are a different story. i feel like viruses are everywhere these days its amazing to me why people even create them. people that put viruses on links and and web pages must have no life. i can picture someone sitting in front of a computer creating a virus.  i wish you could send it back to the person that made it and the virus be so bad it makes there computer explode.  not cool at all.

security is very interesting. it can teach you better ways to secure your PC so it makes it much more difficult for a virus to get in. such as a really strong firewall.  all of security helps keep different things from getting into your PC. it is really fun to learn about this stuff and being able to fix your own problems without having to pay someone to do it for you.  great skill to know in my opinion. great topics. i enjoyed them.

the program scratch is excellent. the M.I.T students created something pretty awesome and fun program that you can just play around with and you can see what the character will do before you are finished. that is what i really enjoyed is that you can add stuff and see what is does. though this is a great program, it took some getting used to. as i worked it became easier and easier to use and i became more comfortable with it. after using it for a little while i got better at knowing what everything did and it helped with my creativity along the way.  with scratch being such a good program its hard to believe that it is free. it is great for making the old school video games.  i really enjoyed this and thought that is was a really fun assignment.

my views have definitely been changed on how web pages are created. I now understand  how much work and time go in to making a webpage. Its no easy task that is for sure. I believe that the longest part of the webpage is coding it. That takes some time to do. After you have created it, the webpage is pretty simple to upload to a web server. At first it was a little difficult but as i went on it became simple. Almost like second nature as far as the lingo and terms go. overall I really enjoyed this assignment it has taught me a lot.  I am glad that I have learned how to do this because some day I may end up needing to do something like this for my job.  This was an amazing experience and I will never forget about it.

this weeks assignment has been really hard for me, but fun at the same time. the webpage has taken up most of my time but this is my first webpage i have ever made so i kind of anticipated that it would. even though the webpage has taken up a lot of my time I have had a good time doing it and am gaining more and more knowledge as I continue on. It took me a little while to get started but after that the coding flowed a little better. The tutorials on the chapter were really helpful. The hand-coding definitely took some getting used to but its getting easier and easier. At first I had trouble getting the background image that I wanted i finally got that working and it was smooth sailing until I went to do a link. I really wanted to use one of my pictures as a link and it kept making the rest of my paragraph after the image a link, so I messed around with the code and I got it the way I wanted. The rest of the webpage was easy because I had already done something similar to that in the first few topics on my webpage. This assignment was really fun and very knowledgeable and I like the fact that when I get done with it I will always have it.

At first the ALS was very confusing i didnt really get how to use it but i played around with it some, putting the different program information into the software and figured out how it works.  So far this semester the topics discussed in class have been talked about in my other computer classes as well so i am getting the same information thrown at me 2 or 3 times a week. that is really good for me because it helps me understand it more in depth. one of my family members gave me and old computer that they had sitting in storage and i have been playing around with it to better understand how they work.  i now understand pretty well of how computers work and the hands on experience has been very helpful as well. it made me more knowledgeable of where different hardware go in a computer case.  i have been trying to use the things i learn in class to do stuff in reality.  i now have a pretty good handle on the things talked about in class.

installing these parts in your comouter: put drives into computer first putting them into there appropriate places( hard drive, disk drive, etc.) , put power supply in, put motherboard in(directions should come with motherboard on step-by-step installation), put expansion cards in there places, then plug up all the cables to the drives, and you have create a computer.

i chose the parts mainly because i wanted to build a really strong computer for gaming. i tried to choose the strongest parts available that were compatible with my motherboard. there were some parts that were really strong but were not compatible so i couldnt use them.
