Final Post

Well class is almost over and my brain is stuffed, with information. Did we learn a lot this semester that is a understatement. When we first started the semester i did not know to much about computers. Now i have a lot better understanding of them. This semester we built a computer i was a little worried at first when we were doing this. After watching video and reading blogs. I figured it out i got a good grade on that assignment. This semester we also learned how to count in binary. I really like this because i felt like i was getting information that not everyone knows. Also we built a web site this was real cool. To learn in the future i would like to build a web site to make money and. Not just for information. Dr. Brown is a great teacher i feel like in  the future i can all ways go back to him and ask him questions about the computer. After all he is the computer doctor. In this class this semester we learned how a computer operates on the inside and out. Our the hardware and software. We all so worked with robots for a couple of weeks this all so was very cool. I liked building them and making them work. I think this class is great. I am glad that you take it first in the computer section. Because you learn so much from it. We also had to write blogs for ever week. This was good because this is something that i would not normal do. It helped me have a better understanding of what was going on each week. I would suggest this class to anyone who is interested in computers. I think it is differently going to help me in the future. I am glad i got to meet Doctor Brown. Everybody says computers are the way of the future i agree with them. We are doing so much with computers in movies and in ever day life. That is why i have decided to work with computers and. Thinks to this class i think i will have a jump on the competition. You can never learn to much information.  Computers we just grow and expand who knows. Maybe one day they will take over. Than they will be programming us.

Virtual Reality

this week in class we talked about virtual reality. I remember in the 90′s how the said b y the year of 2000 that virtual reality. Would be the ultimate thing that everything would be about it. I don’t play any video games but. I have experienced virtual worlds with my t.v. It is a new 3d TV it is awesome. The 3d is a lot better than the theaters. It has a feature on it that transforms regular TV to 3d. It is like remember the first time you saw high definition TV. It is really neat and they are doing a lot with 3d now. Almost every movie that comes out is in 3d. I will enjoy it very much. I am looking forward to the future when every home has a virtual reality machine in it. I think that it is great for simulations. You can go to worlds you never dreamed about. So the future is very excting as i have said before only time will tell.

Artificial Intelligence

This week in class we talked about and discussed artificial intelligence. I find this subject intersting because it is all round us. It is in the commercials we watch the videos games we play. We think about howsmart computers are but i guess it comes down to who is programming them. I found out that computers don’t have common sense. But computers are becoming smarter that is were artificial intelligence comes into play. I guess in the future maybe computers will have common sense at least that is what they are working toward. I am a little older and they say computers is a young mans game. I guess it is not it is who ever keeps up with them. They are always changing the programs we use and how fast the process information the future is wide open. Also this week in lab we finished up working with are robots. From what i experienced even if you program your robot one way it might not actually do that at least that is what i saw. It would go all the way around the circle and be doing what is suppose to do. Than out of no were it would change up and do something different. It was like they had a mind of there own. Like it gave them characteristics our maybe we just want programing them right. I still had fun thou. I think robots are really cool. I just hope they don’t replace us in the future. Only time will tell.

robotics

This week in class we talked about robotics. It is interesting but when ever i usually think about robots. I automatically start thinking about star wars and c3PO. I think he is the coolest robot and he is smart. I guess when you think about robots you think about them being smarter than humans and. They usually do the jobs that we can not do. Also in class we worked with Lego’s mindstorm and built our own robot. This was fun putting them together and making them work. I would not mind working with robots in the future. I am curious about how far they can take it. You see all the time were they are trying to build a robot that looks just like a human an android. One that you cant tell apart. I am excited to be living in the future with robots.

hacking

Well i am a little bias when it comes to hacking. I don’t know if i really like it our not. I am differently not going to be hacking any time soon. I also hope that i don’t get hacked. I don’t like the thought of people sitting around and trying to get your information. I guess the main reason behind hacking is to get money. Why would any want to crash a computer system of someone they don’t know. What we be the pleasure in that. So i guess it is to try to get money somehow. I am glad there are security  systems set up to protect you from hackers. Hacking is to illegal for me to get into. I dont want to go to jnail anytime soon. So i guess i want be doing any hacking.

scratch andRandy Pausch

This week we have been working with scratch. It is a  2d program that you can create cartoon like character’s inter react with each other. You can make them walk, talk and make the background move around. I think it is neat when you tell something what to do and it moves for you. You get to see the results of your outcome. The possibilities of scratch are only limited to your mind. This week in class we watched a video of Randy Pausch. In this video he talks about virtual reality. He talks about creating this masters program for college. He talks about how his students blow his mind. He has been doing this for ten years. He creates Alice a 3d program that helps people learn to program by having fun. He showed one of his students work in the video. He Sang happy birthday to his wife. He says you are suppose to make the most out of life and have fun doing it.

html and sql

 My views have not changed that much after posting an html web page. I do find it neat and i think that it is a special skill evolved in it. You have to remember certain commands and you have to be creative. I respect people that can do it. I can just do the basics nothing fancy. I would like to get better at it. So down the road i can create a page that has to do with more practical uses. Such as to be able to make some money and sell a product. I would also like to get more creative infuture efforts. I am glad that i started learning html and i am also glad that my web page came out. This week in class we talked about sql and databases. This is great if you have a bunch of information that you have to get organized. The program works with you telling it what to do and it Carry’s out the action. This would be perfect if you had a company with lots of employees. You could really keep everything organized. I also like that it is not case sensitive. Sql is a good database  to work with. As long as you can spell i think you can do it. Now i see how all these big companys keep up witl all the workers at a job site.

HTML

This week in class we talked about html. Html stands for hyper text markup language. At first i was confused but after studying the tutorials all week long i think i have a better understanding. What it is it is how you set up web pages on the internet. The way you do it is thru commands these commands are set up. By using what you call tags, tags are the commands. They are set up in brackets, with an opening tag and a closing tag. It is set up that it understands the tags so it works for you. I find these intersting because once you understand how the tags work you create a web page. I set up one thru a notepad i basically talked about myself and what i am intersted in. I think i am doing this right i follwed what the tutorials said and what examples were given in class. I am looking forward to doing more in working with HTML. As time goes and i learn more i hope i will get better at it and. Have something more to create.

Assembly Language

This week we did Assembly Language and software in class.With the Assembly Language i struggled a little it was programming you had to type in the commands.Then you would send them to the ram then you would add our subtract binary numbers to run the program you follow your commands that you type in.This was my first experience with programming i did OK on the actually simulator.I did bad how ever on the quiz.I tried my best i just did not do good.So far this semester we have talked about the basic information of the computer and the people who invented it.We  have talked about binary numbers and how they work.Than we talked about the hardware of the computer.It was interesting we built a computer and l a whole lot about the inside of the computer.Than this week we talked about software.I did pretty good on the software quiz.So far i like the class and am learning a lot about the computer i think it is coming a long pretty good.

 I still a little uncertain on this but i will give it my best shot. It took me all week to think this up this is the hardest thing we have had to do so far. I will start off by giving a list of parts it takes to build a computer. The first thing i got was a motherboard and processor. 1.Pick up the little lever beside were the cpu goes

2.Then you insert the cpu

3.Then you place the cooler fan over the cpu and lock it into place.Then plug in the power cable for it

4.Next you install the memory slots into the mother board.

5.Install the usb slots into the side of the case.Screw them in the case

6.Then you put the mother board in the case,and screw it in

7.Install the hard drive and screw it in

8.Install the optical drive screw it in

9.Install the Blu-Ray drive screw it in and the modem

10.Connect the power switch relay and plug in the cord for the optical drive ,Blu-Ray and disk drive

11.Plug in the Usbs and sata cables you plug positive into positive and negative into negative.

12.Plug in the power supply

13.plug in the sata cable and video cable

14.Put in the video and sound card into the motherboard

15.Plug in all power cords in there place.

16.Install software

This is how you build a computer this is my first attempt.I am sure i will learn more as i get further along in my courses.
