“This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”
After taking this class I kind of feel like some people in this world are getting technologically left behind. I have begun to sense a split in the past and the future. Right now is the beginning of something big. Something so big and profound that many might be unable to grasp it.

Virtual Reality
Virtual Reality.. I believe Reality is only what you perceive it to be. Therefore if you believe a virtual world is reality, then IT IS reality. Some times our world can suck. It can suck so much that you seek a new one. One where anything is possible. One where you can do the unimaginable. A world where the rules are your own. More and more each and everyday more people use technology and explore virtual worlds. I myself have been doing this almost my whole life. My whole purpose for living is to be submersed in my own world. One day life will have a new meaning.

A.I.
A.I.
Thinking machines.. man its hard to imagine that a machine could think for itself. I believe A.I. could be a good thing if we kept it under control. But the day a machine has free will and realizes that humans are a virus destroying the earth is the day we will all become the slaves of our creations. A.I. is good to an extent. If we have a machine that can communicate and predict our minds that is very dangerous. We wouldn’t be able to think for ourselves. The machines would do everything for us and eventually realize they don’t need us.

Robotics
Robots… They are very cool. Working with robots was a fun project. We had trial and error and learned from out mistakes. I’m glad Dr. Brown gave us an opportunity to mess around with robots. Its amazing what things we humans can make machines do. I cannot wait to see how far robots will advance in the future.

Security
we talked about security and hacking. I personally find viruses and malware very fun and challenging. I remember when I got my first trojan virus, I had no idea what I was doing. Pinpointing a virus and completely removing it can be a challenge and takes skill to be done. In the past I have successfully defeated viruses, but remained unsure if they completely destroyed. The way technology is heading, I believe the use of these technologies will only increase.

Scratch & Programming
This week we looked at scratch and I thought it was a fun step to programming. It seemed like there was allot of cool things you can do with it. I enjoyed using it and watching the animation.
We also watched a video on Randy Pausch, Randy was a very interesting man who had done a lot in a short time. The one thing I loved about Randy was that he knew he was going to die and he accepted it.

Week ? my website and databases
As as I said before in my previous blog, I do not enjoy HTML because it is repetitive and boring. Though I did find creating my own website interesting.
As for databases I learned how to do them before, then forgot because I have no use for them at the moment.
I hope this class gets more interesting as it progresses, so far not really.

Week 6 Networking & HTML
This week we learned about HTML and creating websites. I have taken an HTML class in the past, so this is just a recap for me. I really don’t like HTML because its just remembering formulas for generating things on your website. We also learned a little about computer networking this week. I was really interested in this particular field. We talked about protocols and different types of networks, but I wish I could have learned more.

Week 4 Software
This week we looked at different types of software and assembly language. I fairly understood it. Dr. Brown’s simulator was at the most basic level, and well organized, but still complicated. The many lines of code that software has is amazing. Software is very “magical”. It was pretty cool to watch the Steve Jobs and Bill Gates videos, understanding their different view points and history. I wonder what we might get into next week?
