About
I’m David Brown, Associate Professor of Computer Science at Pellissippi State Community College in Knoxville, TN.
I have been teaching at Pellissippi State for 12 years. Before coming to PSCC, I worked as a programmer/analyst for Lockheed-Martin (and its predecessor Martin-Marietta) in Oak Ridge for 13 years, mostly creating internal business systems. I completed my M.S. in Computer Science while at Lockheed-Martin (1989) and finished my Ph.D. in CS shortly after leaving (1999). Both of these degrees were awarded by the University of Tennessee. I received my B.S. from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN in 1983.
My current computing interests include Java/Android programming, natural/gestural interfaces, cellular automata, artificial intelligence, robotics and artificial life.
