UT Fans and Food Lovers should see these Facebook Pages!

Filed under: Thoughts — Su Bell @ 5:20 pm

Who doesn’t love the UT football and freshly made food!

I found amazing recipes and cooking videos on Publix Facebook page and dazzling goods for UT fans on Hound Dogs’ page.

Publix Facebook page drew my attention by providing lovely fresh food pictures and close interactions with customers. Publix updates its page every day with pictures and videos and links to other pages such as Recipes, Health and Wellness, Community, Promotions and Cake Decoration. No wonder it got almost 2,000,000 likes!

Hound Dogs is a small retail business in Knoxville that specializes in University of Tennessee Football apparel. On Hound Dog’s Facebook page, you will find amazing photos of UT Volunteers merchandise, football collectables and Game Day photos as well. Additionally, they effectively use different social media tools like YouTube and Pinterest.

Check out Publix Facebook page which has the best recipes for this Holiday season. And support the Vols by checking out Hound Dogs’ special deals on UT gears!

Below are the links to their Facebook pages and pictures of roasted Dijon-pepper strip roast, cranberry upside-down cake and goodies for new and old UT fans alike.  (To go to Hound dogs’ Facebook you need to be  logged in your Facebook page first.)

Is This Twitter Tool Terrific

Filed under: Twitter Tool — Su Bell @ 6:44 am

IFTTT means IF THIS THEN THAT. It created by Linden Tibbet in 2010.

The this part of a Recipe is a Trigger. If you tagged in photo in Facebook, that is your trigger.

The that part of a Recipe is an Action. Some example Actions are : “create a status message on Facebook.”

Pieces of data from a Trigger are called Ingredients.

IFTTT is a service that enables customers to connect channels. It uses 72 Channels such as Facebook, Evernote, Email, Weather, LinkedIn etc.. Each Channel has its own Triggers and Actions. Personal Recipes are a combination of a Trigger and an Action from your active Channels. In 2012, the service integrated with Belkin WeMO devices, allowing recipes to interact with the real world.

IFTTT Service is not intended for use by children.( age is over 18)

I read some recent reviews. Most of them are positive. Specially,  users like IFTTT’s IPhone apps, like “Jobs To My Inbox,” Call me when the UT game starts.

Blog Research

My Favorite Blog

While exploring the top rated blogs, I have found that several blogs are attention-grabbing and beneficial, such as Fair Language. Fair Language is about learning foreign languages. Another helpful blog is Gadling which gives travel tips. My favorite, however, is Laughing Squid. Laughing Squid was founded in 1995 and now it has 1,383,382 followers. Laughing Squid features unusual art works and creative ideas, which match my interests. Another reason I like this blog is that it includes amazing facts regarding arts and technology and introduces the newest apps for cell phones. It does this through photos, images, graphs and videos. For example, a blogger, D.W. Lynch posted over 4000 articles about incredible paintings. (image #1). Laughing Squid also presents abstract representations of everyday objects. (image #2 shown alphabets made of fried eggs). Image #3 shows an IPhone App for splitting restaurant bills.
