Foursquare is a social network that allows you to tell friends where you are. Some places will offer you discounts for simply “checking in” at their business on Foursquare.
The first review I read was “I got it for the coupons”. Getting rewarded with free or discounted items for “checking in” at businesses seems to be the biggest reason for using Foursquare.
According to one reviewer, “Foursquare is ‘the mayor’ of all check-in applications”. People use Foursquare to compete with friends or others to see who can check-in the most. If you are the most frequent person to check-in somewhere you become ‘the mayor’ of that place.Filed under Thoughts | Comments Off on Foursquare
The following companies use Facebook for marketing their business:
Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey uses Facebook for recipes, contests, videos and information about the company.
Nivea USA uses Facebook for new products, coupons, giveaways and contests.
Crystal Light uses Facebook for games, giveaways, coupons, samples, new products and recipes.
PetSmart uses Facebook for contests, exclusive offers, weekly sales and cute pet photos.
Kind Healthy Snacks uses Facebook to show new products, samples, coupons, and information on their company.
I have already “liked” these companies on Facebook. I have used products or shopped at these companies prior to liking them on Facebook, although I do use Facebook as a tool for learning about a company or new products prior to purchasing. A lot of companies offer coupons and/or samples on their Facebook page, which is great when trying new products.Filed under Thoughts | Comments Off on Companies that use Facebook
Microsoft OneNote is a digital notebook. It is a single place where you can keep all your notes and information with the benefits of being able to easily share with others and search what you need quickly. OneNote allows you to be more organized and stay on top of tasks.
Microsoft OneNote is great for note taking, gathering information, organizing your day, recipes and much more. It’s like having a binder or notebook on your computer. Another great feature of Microsoft OneNote is there is a FREE app for iPhone & Android users. Stay organized on the go!Thoughts | Comments Off on Microsoft OneNote
Twitter or Facebook? Both are good for business but which is better for business? BOTH!! Depends on the type of customer your looking for
— Anthony Smith (@bhstackle66) October 25, 2012
I find that businesses should use both Twitter and Facebook because some customers use one and not the other. I’ve seen businesses advertise contests and things on Facebook, but the user must enter on Twitter and so many people say they don’t use Twitter. I myself rarely use Twitter and now I only use it for school. Previously, I used it to keep up with some family that use Twitter, but none of my friends use it so I stick to Facebook.Filed under Thoughts | Comments Off on Facebook or Twitter
