What i think about robots…

Playing around with the mindstorm lego robots were pretty fun. They were a little bit different than play with other legos that i have played with in the past. the robots gave me a better insight how to program a robots and how it functions. it also made me realize that i do not want to be a programmer because it trying to get the robot to do what i wanted it to took forever and somewhat too challenging. plus it made me very impatient. i will just stick to networking, it puts less stress on me and already have as much stress than i want right now.

Computer Security.

Computer sounds like fun if you are the one doing all the hacking, but it also is some times scary in which somebody hacks into your computer without you knowing something happened. With just a click of a button people can have all of your personal information, even your credit/ debit card number. Depending on what the intentions of user is doing can create a world of problem for you or the people around you. Hacking started out as a good thing and entertainment for others, but as always too much of a good thing, always goes down the tubes or bad. Some hackers have been known some of the most dangerous people in America or the world. Most people do it to mess with other people not intentional hurt others, though.

Scratch project.

My first impression about scratch was that it is kind of a childish, but sometimes you have to dumb things down to understand the most complicate stuff. I created a program with Scratch of a guy break dancing in the middle of a street. It is still in the process of being develop but it is coming together pretty well. The speech by Randy Pausch was very inspiring to me. It taught me to not take anything for granted and to give 100% of everything that I do in life. From what I could see, Randy was a very loved man who loved teaching and loved his students. I liked that the speech was not depressing, but more inspiring.

Learning how to write in HTML 2

My view on how the internet and webpages are made has definitely changed since writing my own webpage. When I look at other websites, they look very neat and very well thought out. You can tell that people think and plan for hours on how their website should look. after someone writes out a their own code and publishes it in just a matter of days. Now take it for granted that I have only had two weeks to learn, write, and publish my own site I definitely have respect that get paid for sitting in front of a computer all day and night writing code. You would definitely have to pay me a lot of money to do that. I’m currently taking database design, so I kind of already know about SQL and databases, but it’s always good to go back to the fundamentals on something that you already know.

Learning how to write in HTML.

When I first started to learn how to write in HTML, I will be completely honest and say that i was lost as can be. I thought to myself this is something that I could never learn, but that didn’t stop me. After a while, I kinda figured it out. Then a couple more hours went by and I figured it out enough to be comfortable in the basic stuff. I’m still trying to learn more stuff. some thing that kinda troubles me to knowing the the certain tags that you need to know, to do certain things. Sometimes when I’m writing a lot code, it sometimes all gets all meshed together in my mind and I get confused in what I am trying to achieve and it doesn’t do what I want it to do. then I have to go back and see what I to make the corrections. But its all an learning experience and a work in progress.

Assembly Language Simulator.

For the most part the Assembly Language Simulator assignment has been rather tricky for me to understand, but I think that I got the idea of it now. It’s basically putting information into machine code (binary). and putting it into a RAM address, and executing the steps that you want the computer to do. this whole assignment is suppose to show what goes on inside the computer that people normally does not see, or what programmers do to make software. The part that gets pretty tricky for me is when the computer is doin all the steps that it is told to and how to read what the computer is actually doing. other than that the semiester is goin quite well for me this spring. all the concepts that we have have gone over have been pretty easy to understand and comprehend for me.

Building a computer.

First thing that I would choose to make my computer would be the case for all the hardware that I need to put together.

This would be the motherboard that I would want, because the chipset is set up the way i would want my personal computer to be like and it looks cool. Also it comes with its own CPU and with 32GB of memory, and it is suitable for the online gaming that I do in my spare time when I’m not with friends.

Some things that I learned, boring, or found interesting this week…

Some thing that I found interesting this week was that everything that you see on a computer is made up of numbers, like the matrix. The computer has its own language called Binary. Everything that you see is either in “1” or “0”. People can write each other messages to each other in numbers or symbols. Binary also came from the idea of Morris code. Even in pictures and sound are made up of numbers that the computer reads.

Also, I learned that all information is stored in switches inside the computer. The symbol “1” is represented as a closed switch, and “0” is represented as an open switch. These switches give off electricity to the CPU, then in return the CPU put the information on the monitor of your screen.

All about me…

My name is Tucker Jackson. I am from Knoxville, TN. I have lived here my entire life. I went to Bearden High School. I like to play basketball, hangout with friends, go out on the lake, play video games, and some other things that don’t come to my head right now. My favorite basketball player is Lebron James, and i do not care what other people think of him. My relationship with computers is kind of brief, but I want to know more about them. I feel as if the world revolves around technology and computers sometimes. Everywhere I go, I can’t go outside without seeing some sort of technology. Sometimes i feel lost in what computers bring, thus making me want to know more.

Here are some websites that I participate in…..
